Due to the excitement, we know there will be a few questions, so we jumped ahead of you guys and drew up some Frequently Asked Questions when getting ready to attend a destination wedding.
Do I need a passport to attend the wedding?
Yes! A valid passport is required to travel to St. Maarten. Please be sure yours is up to date well before the wedding.
What resort will we be staying at?
We will be staying at the Sonesta Maho/Oceanpoint Resort off of Maho Beach. More detail and booking links will be provided in the official RSVP.
What is the wedding attire?
Our dress code is beach formal - All guest should wear either White, Tan, Khaki or nude tones. BRIGHT COLORS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ENTRY! This helps keep the photos, videos and overall aesthetic cohesive.
What airport should I fly into?
You'll want to book your flight into Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM). This is the closest and most convenient airport to our resort.
Will there be payment plans for the resort stay?
Yes, once you receive your official invite, you will have to make a $150 deposit on your room and you will be able to complete the purchase over time.
How do I Pre-RSVP?
Click the "RSVP" tab on the left (computer) or drop down menu (mobile) and fill out the form. Once the form is complete with your information, click submit and we will have you in the docket.
Can I bring a plus-one?
Due to limited budget, we are only able to accommodate those guest formally invited on your upcoming wedding invitation. Your invite will be made out to "(Your Name) & Guest" if a plus one has been given to you. Thank you for understanding!
Are meals and drinks included?
Yes! Sonesta Maho/Oceanpoint Resort is all-inclusive!
Do I have to stay at the resort to attend the wedding?
No, you can stay else where but there will be a $50 entry fee and if you arrive after 4pm, you will have to wait until the reception to join the wedding party.
Are children welcome at the wedding?
Although we love the kids! No children under the age of 16 will not be allowed at the wedding day events but you are more than welcome to brings kids for your vacation stay.
Can I take photos and videos during the ceremony
We'd love for everyone to be fully present with us, PLEASE keep phones and cameras tucked away during the ceremony. There will be a one-minute photo opportunity, which the officiant will announce, so you can capture a quick shot. Professional photos will be shared afterwards.
What is St. Maarten's weather like in July?
July in St. Maarten is warm and humid, usually in the mid-to-high 80s. Passing showers can happen, but they're usually brief.
What if it rains?
We have a covered backup plan for the ceremony and cocktail hour, the celebration will continue rain or shine.
Is parking or transportation available?
Parking is available at he resort for $10 per day if you're renting a vehicle, please keep this in mind when planning. Taxis and shuttles are also widely available across the island. We recommend coordinating transportation so you can relax and enjoy your vacation. If renting a car, feel free to email us for recommendations.
How hot will it be during the ceremony and cocktail hour?
It will be warm and humid, but we'll provide fans and shade to help keep everyone comfortable. Once the reception begins, we'll move into air-conditioning.
Should I bring anything special?
Sunscreen and sunglasses for daytime events and maybe a light layer for the evening if you'll enjoy the terrace.
Will food and drinks be served outside?
Yes, cocktail hour will be outdoors, featuring tropical flavors and refreshing drinks. Dinner will be served and dancing will be inside, with terrace access for a mix of island air and cool comfort.
